It's no secret that Greenville has become a top destination for both new residents and investors.
And it's no wonder why. The beautiful landscape, close access to mountains, new residential and business developments, endless attractions and activities continue to draw people from all over the country. As a matter of fact, a recent survey (2021) from United Van Lines listed South Carolina as the third most popular state for people moving in. What's driving this growth? Simply put, the cost of housing along with recreational options. The Greenville and Spartanburg area has become synonymous with family friendly activities, attractive and affordable housing options, parks and new businesses. Additionally, the Greenville area continues to make improvements to its infrastructure, roads and highways. Greenville downtown has been listed as one of the most attractive downtown areas for many years. Newcomers to the state have noticed.
Greenville attracted many of those new residents to the state, which is clearly seen by locals by the amount of new housing developments and busy roads. Beyond Greenville, many suburbs have experienced the effects of this mass migration. This includes Simpsonville, Greer, Reidville, Woodruff and Travelers Rest.
Builders have jumped over the opportunity to find open land outside of Greenville to build massive residential subdivisions and attract new transplants. It appears that this growth will continue. As new businesses relocate to the upstate, Greenville will continue to be a popular destination for many.
